- Makos Motorsports Kicks off New Website and New Season

- Welcome to the new Makos Motorsports Website. We hope
to keep race fans up-to-date with respect to scheduling,
results, news and photos, and also to retain historical data
on Matteus and Julius Makos and their growing list of
accomplishments. Please bear with us as this site is
still under construction, and more features will be functional
as soon as possible. Check back often for updates!

- Ontario-based
Makos Motorsports is entering its fourth season of kart racing in
exciting fashion! Team drivers Julius and Matteus Makos are set to run a
number of classes on a variety of tracks, and will do so on multiple
chassis as they continue to develop into well-rounded racers. Each is
set to race both the Ontario Regional Karting Championship and the Brian
Stewart Racing Karting Championship along with select club races when
time allows - an action packed schedule to be sure.
For 2008 four-stroke racing, the team has signed on with Karts&Parts Gold and
will be at the capable hands of driver/tuner Darryl Timmers. Matteus will race
Novice while Julius will return to Junior Light. Combinations are still being
considered for two-stroke classes, but be sure both Julius and Matteus will be
on the Mini-Max grid in the season ahead.
Nine-year-old
Matteus is perhaps the most excited Canadian karter entering his third full
season of racing as he missed much of last year with a broken arm - twice!
Just
days after healing from a broken left arm, he broke his right and returned to
the injured list! Despite the setbacks, Matteus finished third at both Toronto
Kart Club and Simcoe Kart Club, and was fifth in the Brian Stewart Racing
Karting Championship.
Twelve-year-old
Julius is entering his fifth full season of competition having taken the 2007
Simcoe Kart Club Junior Light Championship. He also finished fifth at the Brian
Stewart Racing Karting Championship and will be looking for podiums and major
points in both regionals beginning in May.
Makos Motorsports races with support from Makos Promotional Products, Road Runner
Engines, Asset Engineering, Boss Steel, Classic Cuisine, Classique Event
Catering, K-Tek Electro Services Limited, Low Risk Logistics, Maple Leaf Foods,
Night Light Inc, and The K-Line Group of Companies.
